General Description: Oto has a lean and tone physic while also maintaining feminine curves; muscular without being disgustingly so. She stands at five feet four inches tall and weighs in at one hundred and ten pounds.

Oto has black hair with dark brown undertones to it, and brown eyes the color of chocolate. Her skin is lightly tanned naturally, though it darkens quite a bit if she spends prolonged hours in the sunlight.

Oto prefers not to wear make up at all, or jewelry, and simply prefers to wear her hair up in a ponytail at the top-back of her head with only her bangs hanging down to frame her eyes and naturally thick, black eyelashes.

The majority of the time Oto prefers to wear white, baggy capris, held up by a small rope belt which goes around her waist and ties in the front. She pairs this with a black tank top which shows off quite a bit of her mid-drift and which clings to her form allowing it to remian in place while she preforms various acrobats and fighting moves. The majority of the time Oto prefers to go barefoot, though when needed she will wear either  pair of simple sandals, or class open toed shinobi sandals.



Personality: Oto is an exceptionally calm individual. The kind of reign and control she has over her temper (the lack of one that is) is phenomenal. It takes a great deal to get under Oto's skin, and even when that occurs it's very rare to get a violent reaction out of her. Oto is more likely to simply turn around and walk away than to use words or fists to solve such situations.

Now, that isn't to say that Oto will not defend herself because she will. However, even here she prefers to utilize her opponents own strength and bragging against them rather than to attack them herself - normally allowing them to tire themselves out while they attempt to attack her and she simply dodges everything. More often than not her opponents give up out of sheer exhaustion rather than having been harmed. When she does happen to strike someone, which is incredibly rare, she does so simply to stun or to stop them - never aiming to kill.

Oto enjoys spending the majority of her time training, but when she's not doing so she likes to continue to expend her knowledge - the quest of which greatly excites her. She enjoys constantly having her head in a book, learning new things, and prefers that to wasting time or blowing time away. Though, even Oto will once in a while go find a nice quiet place to relax and simply watching the clouds go by.

History: Oto's mother was named Nehai, and came from a very well to do family high up within the nobility rankings of Sakebigakure. When Nehai's parents learned of her unwed pregnancy (which was the result of a one night stand with someone who Nehai adored and whom had promised to marry her simply to get into her pants) they were ashamed of their daughter and fearful of what the other nobility would think - surely it would be the talk of the village were word to get out, an absolute scandel they were fearful their family's standing would not survive. Nehai was sent away in the dead of night by her family, off to a minor village to live there in secracy for the duration of her pregnancy. When Oto was born the child knew her mother for all of five minutes before she was taken away from her, and left bundled up in a basket at the doorway of the nearest monistary - though to this day Oto does not know if her mother gave her up willingly or was forced to.

The next morning when the monks were going about their chores, one of which was to leave the empty milk bottles outside of the door for the milk man to come and refill, the child was discovered and quickly taken inside. A doctor was called upon whom deemed the child healthy, though did mention there seemed to be some kind of malfunction with the childs ears - rendering her deaf from birth. This did not stop Oto from having a set of lungs though, which caused the monks to name her Oto (Sound). Given the lack of any decent nearby orphanages the monks decided to keep her and teach her their ways, raising her as one of them, despite the fact that the monestary was male only up until that point.

Oto thrived as a young child depsite her handicap under the monks tutilage. She was taught reading, writing, mathmatics, geometry, and a multitude of languages. She was taught the art of peace and diplomacy, yet also how to use martial arts to her advantage so that she could better protect others: always having it drilled into her that these skills were so that she could help those around her and not for her own self gain and that they were to be used only as a last resort. By the time Oto was ten years old she was extremely skilled, powerful, and gaining a new set of ability - the ability to use sound via Ninjutsu. Yet, her chakra control was lacking - sometimes dangerously so. For the protection of the monks as well as Oto's own protection a private tutor - a retired shinobi from Umigakure - was hired to teach Oto the type of chakra control needed to use her new found abilities.

Oto continued to thrieve even more, gaining not only control over her ninjutsu techniques, but the ability to combine the sound release she could utilize with her natural taijutsu skills. It was around this time too, as she continued to study sound release, that she began to develope a new ability - a way or means of being able to hear without actually doing so. The ability to discern the sound vibrations around her so perfectly that she could pick up speech from them and "hear" it in her own way. By the time Oto was sixteen years old she had learned not only all that the monks could teach her, but all the retired shinobi they had hired as her tutor could. She was approached by the head monk, Brother Liam, who told her it was time for her to venture out into the world and to continue to grow as strong as possible so that she could use these abilities to better aide the people around her.

With nothing more than the pack on her back and some money the brother's had been saving up for her, Oto did just that. She traveled for many months until she came across what was looking to be the beginnings of a very powerful ninja village - Soragakure. She contacted the administrators and petitioned to become a full fledged member of the village so that she could better study and learn. She was given a knowledge and skill based test to show what all she mentally knew, as well as what she could do physically, which she passed with grace. The very next day she was given her Soragakure hitai-ate, and became a full fledged member of the village: A Genin.

RP Sample: Silence, it was golden. Thankful for Oto she didn't exactly have to try to achieve it: being deaf would do that to you. In fact, Oto didn't even know what sound sounded like - she knew what it felt like though. At that moment she could pick up tiny little vibrations moving through the air directed at her. Upon focusing she could tell someone, Brother Lee from the tone of it, was speaking to her. "Try again, Oto. We'll keep practicing until you get it right."

Right.

She needed to focus on her task. Brother Lee had been trying all afternoon to show her a specific Taijutsu move that would have her launching herself into the air, spinning, and sending out a kick that at the height she was supposed to be at would have her kicking her opponent in the head. It was one of the rare times the monks were trying to teach her anything that would actually harm anyone, and they had spent over a week of time drilling it into her that it was only to be used under the most nessecary of conditions - basically when the life of another depended on her knocking her opponent unconcscious. But, she was having trouble. She was shorter than most of the monks, meaning that when she jumped into the air she didn't go nearly as high. Trying to do it the way they were showing her simply wasn't working. Even Brother Lee, as patient as he was, was beginning to show signs of exasperation with her.

So she'd have to improvise or else they'd be there all day and well into the night.

Oto thought back to one of the jutsu she had learned recently when learning to harness sound release, it was a jutsu meant to give a push back effect to an opponent. So if it could be used to push an opponent back then why couldn't she use that same force to push her higher up into the air? The logic made sense, so she decided to try it. Once more Oto took her fighters stance, preparing to launch herself into the air. This time, though, as she jumped high she held her right hand down and pushed from it a burst of sound which launched her high up into the air - much higher than she had previous. As she reached the peak of her height she threw herself into a counter clockwise spin, gaining momentum as she went. By the time she was facing the same direction again her foot, which she struck out in a kick, was eye level with the dummy causing her attack to hit it square in the head - hard enough to knock a normal person unconscious. Oto landed, and then looked to Brother Lee. He was watching her with amusement, and a grin on his face. "Good, good. You improvised. I like that. Improvising well in a fight can often tip the scales in your advantage, especially if you're up against an opponent who is far larger or taller than yourself. Alright... let's keep practicing..."
