Life was definitely interesting sometimes. Things came out of nowhere that you didn't expect, shit happened, and then life moved on. For someone as mentally unstable as Demitria it was all like a giant roller coaster ride of fun-times. A ride she could never get off of, true, but one that changed constantly. She had never expected for the voices in her head, voices that were so much louder now that she was considered the clan head of the Malkavia clan, to lead her to where she now was. She also had not expected to find a good portion of her family here as well, having fixed up the village and put a stop - mostly - to those who wore strange headbands and got off on torturing innocent and helpless people. Those who hadn't been stopped were being hunted down which came in handy for what Demitria needed them for. She had a new medical ninjutsu technique that she was looking to fully learn and she needed a test subject for it. Considering it had been explained to her that their lives as criminals were in the past and they were doing things the legitimate way now it meant she couldn't just go and pluck someone off of the streets like she perhaps would have in the past and used them as a test dummy. No, she would have to find someone who no one would miss, who no one would care about. In her mind that meant the headband people: no one would care what happened to them, especially the more cruel ones, the ones who went above and beyond to hurt and torture people.
No, they would do perfectly.
She just had to find them.
Unlike some of her family she didn't have an extra sensory ability; she didn't have something that allowed her to see over vast distances. So, she was going to have to do this by trial and error. She had procured and old map of various smaller villages surrounding Kurayami in hopes that one of these villages would hold an active base for the headband goons. The first two minor villages that she had ventured to had been empty; long since abandoned. It made her wonder if the abandonment had been by choice or by force: had these people left simply because they wanted to, or had the headband people forced them out so that they could experiment on them and hurt them? Both times she had found such a sight it had caused a spark of anger, and that anger had caused her to lash out: the first time she had simply punched a hole through a wall but the second time around she had actually set about breaking several windows and ripping a door off of its hinges in frustration. A Malkavia's anger was dangerous at the best of times, but at least Demitria had learned to channel hers somewhat to keep her from lashing out at innocents.
Now, however, Demitria was headed towards the third location mapped out, which wasn't all that far from the second. She cared little about the beasts roaming around in the darkness, and so far they had left her alone: if one of them did try their luck with her she would show them the error of their ways, it was as simple as that.
As Demitria got near she began to notice that she could see the outline of a very tiny village; there was some kind of light coming from the center of it. The way that the light flickered and sometimes faded told her that it was a fire. Yet, she heard no screams, and saw no actual buildings on fire. Could this be a bonfire? Ducking down, using the shadows as a natural cloaking mechanism she moved closer and sure enough seated around the fire she saw her prey: six of the headband goons partying away; two of whom from what she could tell were very rosey in the cheeks from drinking so much booze.
